One of the best ways to ensure your mover is not a dangerous scam is to check if they’re licensed by the Department of Transportation.

Does The Company Insure Your Items?

Protecting your items is a key concern choosing a local moving company. Not all movers are insured, which means your valuables could be at risk in the event of an accident, damages, or theft. But making sure your mover has insurance is only part of the solution. Some companies don’t put a value on your items, so your coverage is left up to the insurance company. It is important to ask these questions when interviewing potential movers.

Longhorn Moving is insured and offers, in writing, a valuation at $0.60 per pound per article. If you have items that you feel should exceed that valuation, simply ask us for a special consideration included in your written contract.

Does The Company Have A Track Record?

Reviews from previous customers are a great way to vet your potential moving companies. Not only will you get an idea of the kind of service they provide, you’ll also get a feel for how long they’ve been in business and how much experience they have.
